Palo Is Going À La Carte: What Disney Cruise Line’s Dining Change Means for Your Next Sailing

Posted on October 15, 2026October 15, 2026 by Tracy

If you’ve ever celebrated an anniversary, a birthday, or just a well-earned adults-only night out at sea, chances are you’ve done it at Palo. Now, one of Disney Cruise Line’s most beloved dining experiences is getting a significant update.

What’s Changing

Beginning October 22, Disney Cruise Line’s Palo restaurants will start phasing out the prix-fixe dinner menu in favor of an à la carte menu. Instead of paying one set price for a multi-course meal, guests will order dishes individually.

The change applies to Palo, Palo Steakhouse, and Palo Trattoria, and it will roll out ship by ship over several days.

When Your Ship Will Switch

Here’s the fleet-wide rollout schedule:

  • October 22: Disney Wonder
  • October 23: Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Disney Wish
  • October 24: Disney Magic, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny
  • October 26: Disney Adventure

If you’re sailing around these dates, it’s worth confirming which menu format your ship will be using during your voyage.

Castaway Club Members

If you’re a Platinum or Pearl Castaway Club member, your Palo perk isn’t going away, but it can no longer be used for brunch. Before these changes the credit was only supposed to be used for dinner, but most people have been able to apply it to their lunch. Eligible members, along with guests staying in the same stateroom, can continue to use a $55 per-person credit toward à la carte dinner items at Palo, Palo Steakhouse, or Palo Trattoria.

The fine print

  • The credit can be used once per sailing.
  • The eligible Castaway Club member must be present if any guests from their stateroom redeem the benefit.
  • The credit is valid for dinner only. Brunch is excluded.
  • Guests are responsible for beverage charges, gratuities, and any amount exceeding the credit.
  • Unused credit is forfeited, has no cash value, and is nontransferable.
  • Reservations are subject to availability, and minimum age restrictions may apply.

What This Means for You

An à la carte menu gives diners more flexibility. You can build a lighter meal, go all in on appetizers, or focus on a single standout entrée. Because the credit is a fixed $55 per person, you’ll want to keep an eye on your total, especially once drinks and gratuity come into play.

As always, Palo reservations tend to fill up quickly, so if it’s on your must-do list, book early.

Will you be sailing during the transition? It will be interesting to see how the new menu looks and feels once it rolls out across the fleet.
