Disney Cruise Line has updated some of its policies. Guests sailing soon received emails about the updated alcohol policy, as well as changes to how passengers can decorate their rooms.
Alcohol Policy
Disney has updated the amount of alcohol that can be carried aboard the ship. Previously, you could bring two bottles of 750mL of wine or champagne per passenger of drinking age. Now you can only bring one unopened bottle per guest of drinking age. The amount of beer remains the same: six beers no larger than 12 ounces. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage. Alcohol can only be brought on board at the beginning of the cruise, previously you could bring the allowed amount at each port.
Subject to the minimum drinking age applicable to your sailing, Disney Cruise LineGuests may bring a maximum of one (1) bottle of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage. For roundtrip cruises from Singapore, Guests must be 18 years of age and older to consume or bring these beverages. For all other cruises, Guests must be 21 years of age and older to consume or bring these beverages. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage. Liquors, spirits or wine and beer purchased in ports of call will be stored until the end of the cruise. Guests must retrieve stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Items not retrieved will be discarded and no compensation will be offered.
For Guests wishing to consume wine or champagne that they have brought on board in one of the dining rooms, the corking fee is $20.00 per bottle.
State Room Decorations
Disney has updated its FAQs regarding stateroom door decorations. Decorations are only allowed on doors and are not permitted on corridor walls or ceilings. Over the last few years, a few guests have taken decorating to a whole new level, covering their doors, walls and even the ceilings around their rooms! While many of these elaborate designs are impressive, they can be difficult for room stewards and guests with mobility issues to navigate. The narrow corridors on the ship are already cramped, and additional decorations can further reduce the available space.
