Disney Wonder Returning to Port Canaveral?

There are numerous posts on Disney Cruise forums that the Disney Wonder is preparing to return to Port Canaveral. According to the posts, crew members on the Disney Wonder have said they are leaving tomorrow for the Panama Canal to return to Port Canaveral. The Wonder will be dropping off crew members from Mexico, Colombia, Jamaica and other Caribbean countries.

The Disney Wonder has been in the San Diego area since the Westbound Panama Canal cruise in March. it is the only Disney ship that has had cases of Covid-19. According to the information on MarineTraffic.com, the Disney Wonder is heading to Ensenada Mexico. After more than 70 days in port at San Diego, it does look like the Wonder may be making its way to Port Canaveral.

The Government of Canada announced Friday that their ports will remain closed to ships with more than 100 passengers until at least October 31, 2020. With the loss of the remaining Alaskan season and the timeline for the return to cruising still up in the air, it makes sense for DCL to repatriate its crew. The cost to bring the ship through the Panama Canal is very high. I think it is unlikely they would return to San Diego in September to do the Mexican Riviera cruises.

Update May 31, 2020 18:27

The Disney Wonder had a brief stop in Ensenada Mexico and is now on its way to Balboa Panama.
