The Disney Wish arrived around 5 AM this morning on June 9, coming from the Netherlands. The ship has been performing sea trials for the last few weeks with its final test happening on May 28. June 9 was originally supposed to be the maiden voyage of the Disney Wish however, covid delays in the build prevented that from happening.

During the handover ceremony, Meyer Werft shipyard Managing Director Jan Meyer, Disney Cruise Line President Thomas Mazloum, Captain Marco Nogara, Captain Minnie Mouse and several others were on hand. After the official handover has been concluded, Disney Wish will prepare for her maiden crossing of the Atlantic Ocean as she sets sail towards her new homeport, Port Canaveral.

From Bremerhaven, Disney Wish will sail along the coast of the Netherlands, through the English Channel, and make a call in the Azores on June 13. The LNG-powered, 144,000 gross ton cruise ship will arrive at Port Canaveral on June 20, between 4 AM and 7 AM at terminals 8 and 10. It is the first of three new Disney Cruise Line ships to be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany through 2025.
