Disney Cruise Line's Disney Magic

Updated Cancellation Post: March 14, 2020, 5:19 EDT here.

The Cruise Lines International Association announced Friday, March 13 that all cruise lines “will be voluntarily and temporarily suspending cruise ship operations from U.S. ports of call for 30 days.”

Disney Cruise Lines announced Thursday, March 12, that they would cancel all sailings until the end of March. With this new announcement from the CLIA, Disney is expected to cancel another two weeks of sailings.

The Sailings Affected

The sailings in bold have not been announced yet and have been removed from the Disney Cruise Line website. The cancellation of these sailings is expected to be announced in the next few days. The sailings in italics listed under the Wonder are the sailings that will be affected by Canada barring Cruise ships with more than 500 people from their ports. These cruises on the Wonder starting April 24, 2020, have been removed from the Disney Cruise Line website.

Passengers on the cancelled cruises are being offered a full refund or cruise credit of 125% of the cost of their current sailing. They have 15 months to choose a new date.

Disney updated their cancellation policy on March 6 for cruises leaving from a US port until May 31, 2020.

All Guests scheduled to depart on the Disney Magic between now and May 8, 2020, and the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder between now and May 31, 2020, can change their reservation up until the day before embarkation and receive a 100% cruise credit to be used for a future sailing within 12 months of their original sail date by calling us at 1-866-325-2112 or 407-566-3510 or contacting their travel agent. The credit is non-refundable and standard prevailing rates will apply.

Cruises on the Magic sailing in Europe through July 25th also have a Temporary Cancellation Policy.

Guests currently booked on our European sailings through our July 25 departure can change their reservation up until the day before embarkation and receive a 100% cruise credit to be used for future sailing within 15 months of their original sail date by calling us at 1-866-325-2112 or 407-566-3510 or contacting their travel agent. The credit is non-refundable and standard prevailing rates will apply. Alternatively, Guests currently booked on our July 13, July 18 and July 25, 2020, European sailings may delay their final payment to 30 days prior to their sailing.

What Disney plans to do with the cruises affected by the changes in Canada are unknown at this time. It seems unlikely they will be able to go to Alaska until after July 1. Hopefully, we will get an update in the next week.
