I am not sure when the change will start but I would guess that it will be before September 29, 2022, when the public booking opens for the Australia and New Zealand itineraries. Currently, the phone lines are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern time; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern time. There is a 12-hour difference between the Eastern time zone— Orlando, and the Australian Eastern time zone where Sydney is located. The current call center hours would make it difficult for those in Australia and New Zealand to book and adjust their reservations without staying up all night, lol.
There’s no word whether this will be a permanent change, but the Australian and New Zealand cruises don’t sail until the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. I would think the new, expanded call center hours would last until then. Hopefully the new call center hours will decrease wait times and make it more conveniente for all cruisers.
